RAAM 2010: CREW MEMBERS

NAME:

Jay Yost

HOME TOWN:

Mahomet, Illinois

SKILLS:

I have good basic map-reading skills and would probably make a good navigator/map reader. I have no skills involving computers or GPS navigation systems. I like maps! Additionally, like most serious bike racers, I am a pretty good bike mechanic and have more than basic skills. Rebuilding a wheel is beyond me, but adjusting bars, derailleurs, etc. are a snap! I am also willing to be a driver.

EXPERIENCE:

I have been involved with bicycle racing since I was 12 years old, but have been heavily involved with ultra cycling for the last four years. I have some experience involving all aspects of bike racing.

EXPECTATIONS:

I am quite flexible. I eat and am happy with almost anything and am willing to drive or navigate day or night. I expect to learn something more about a race that has fascinated me since I was 12 years old. I also expect you (Paul) to finish the race!

BACKGROUND:

I am a 38 year-old dude from central Illinois who has been involved with ultra cycling for the past four years. I am planning my own 8 man team RAAM in the next two years, with my own solo RAAM in the next four years. I also have a large bicycle collection, including a Peugeot PX-10 restored by Sheldon Brown in 1991.
