Lazarus House is located in St. Charles, Illinois. The organization serves men, women and children in the school districts of St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia and western rural Kane County who are homeless or at risk and provides them with safe shelter, food and support services. The organization has three major programs:
- The only Emergency Shelter serving mid Kane County open 365 days a year.
- The only transitional housing program (Center for Transitional Living) in the Tri-Cities and western rural Kane County area.
- An outreach program, funded by grants, that provides rent and utility assistance to qualifying households.
The organization has a number of goals that include:
- Offering services and referrals to help those in need in our community to prevent homelessness and support the well being of individuals and their families.
- Helping homeless persons return to independent living with the skills and habits needed for long-term success.
I am seeking people to sponsor me by the mile or time station completed. If you would like to do so please contact me via email at Paul Carpenter. You may also contribute directly to the organization through their web site: http://www.lazarushouseonline.com/.
